== Google Wave and Content Management Systems ==
A number of early adopters of Google Wave have recognized that some of its advanced technological features are particularly useful for Web Content Management Systems (WCMS)[1] that have matured and become relatively stable through a number of release cycles, but nevertheless continue to evolve thanks to the growth of their adherents in the general open source movement. Some of these features include enhanced real time collaboration, playback capabilities, extensibility through the use of gadgets and robots and reliance upon transparent open source codes. As of November, 2009, at least three major Web Content Management Systems (Drupal, WordPress and Joomla) were represented in Google's Code Lab API Sample Gallery illustrating the use of embedded Google Waves([2]. Although access to these early exemplars of embedded Google Wave code required pre-existing access to Google's Developers' Sandbox, these examples showed the early promise of Google Wave's broad applicability, despite the existence of significant differences in the programming languages generally used by these different groups of content management developers (WCMS developers tend to rely on PHP, whereas Google Wave developers tend to rely on Java, Python and Rails).
Drupal
Drupal is a popular WCMS that, as of November 2009, is about to enter its seventh release cycle. Drupal developers interested in Google Wave have formed a group that posts discussions on the topic of their interrelatedness [3]. At least two samples of Google Wave code embedded in a Drupal-based site are posted at Google's Code Lab Sample Gallery[4][5].
WordPress
A sample of shortcode that can be used to embed Google Waves in a WordPress page or post is showcased at Google's Code Lab Sample Gallery[6].
Joomla
A sample of Google Wave code embedded as a Joomla plugin is posted in Google's Code lab Sample Gallery [7].
